この度は日本文化祭にご協力頂き、誠にありがとうございました。

Thank you for your participation at the Japan Culture Festival 2011.

皆様方一人ひとりの温かいご協力のおかげで、

以下のような結果となりましたことをご報告差し上げます。

Thanks to your supports, the result of the Culture Festival is below:

総参加者数 All participants ： about 2200 people

寄付総額 Total donation：＄7000.00

寄付金は、領事館とSave the Children ~Japan Earthquake Appeal~に寄付させて頂きました。

Regarding the donation,
We donated to both Red cross(through Consulate-general of Japan) and Save the Children ~Japan Earthquake Appeal~.

2012年も、11月最後の日曜日（11月25日）に日本文化祭を企画しております。

残念ながらCollingwoodTownhallが工事に入るため、

来年はこの会場が使えないのですが（どこか会場をご存知ならどうかお教えください）、

より熱く充実した文化祭ができるようスタッフ一同尽力いたします。

Next year, we will have this festival on Sunday 25th Nov 2012.

unfortunately we can not use the same venue due to construction (please let us know if you know any venue!),

but we will make more and more efforts to make the culture festival successful,

your support next year will be very very appriciated again :D

また、よりよい文化祭にするために、

The Japan Culture Festival this year is the charity event for the Great East Japan Earthquake.
今年の日本文化祭は東日本大震災のチャリティーイベントです。

All the profit made at the festival goes to the Japan Red Cross though the Consulate of General in Melbourne and it assists the people affected by the earthquake and tsunami in East Japan on 11th March.
フェスティバルで売り上げた全ての収益は、メルボルン日本領事館を通して、日本赤十字社に寄付され、そして今年３月１１日に地震や津波で被災された方々に届きます！

We have a donation booth in the main hall!
If you donate more than $5, we will give you a thanks gift!!

Origami is the Japanese art of paper folding to create beautiful decorative pieces and other useful items such as chopstick holders and bookmarks. Enjoyed by people of all ages origami is created by using origami paper of bright or pastel colours or paper with beautiful patterns to create figures including flowers, animals and even aeroplanes!!
Come join us to learn about this beautiful Japanese art form and create an item of your choice and most of all let’s have fun!! Everyone that visits the origami booth and tries their hand at it will also receive a piece of origami to take home. On the day we will also have origami paper packs and ready-made origami pieces available for purchase.

What do you, or did you think of that moment? When will you or did you start? What is your dream or hope for your future? What has begun in the natural world or the human world? Please express that moment in a snapshot picture or a movie.

We had delivered "Japan Culture Festival (日本文化祭) " in Melbourne last year, 2010, as its first attempt to exhibit the artworks from student and people who wanted to contribute their arts and skills to the public. It focused on mutual interaction and audience participation in order to enrich the cultural exchange experience.

2010年にオーストラリア・メルボルンで始まった「日本文化祭」。”日本文化体験”をコンセプトに、文化、芸術、音楽等、多岐にわたって、アーティストおよび一般の技術者が集まり、それを伝承、披露し、観衆全員が、体験参加できる文化交流の場となりました。まぁ、固い表現は抜きにして、とにかく楽しく盛り上がりました。

For example from the last year’s festival, there were many groups of Japanese and Australian artists made a collaborative rearrangement of traditional Japanese music, culture and art together. The festival attracted more than 1,500 visitors.

去年は、国籍を越えたアーティストグループやバンド、コーラスなどが生まれるきっかけにもなりました。日豪交流もバッチリ、初企画にも関わらず約1500名も参加して頂き、感謝感謝感謝です！

This year, 2011, we will enhance the element of audience participation and invite more artists from Japanese and other cultural backgrounds to support our aim to promote Japanese Art and culture – music, art, workshops as well as fund raising section.

そして、2011年の今年は、更なるアーティストグループが賛同参加し、音楽、ワークショップ、アート展示の更なる活性化を図ります！そしてこのイベントを、3月11日の大震災への支援につなげていくつもりです。

As for the arts exhibition, we seek participation of professional artists, the members of the public, and the students and pupils of the Victorian schools where Japanese is taught as foreign language.

アート展示に関しては、プロの方だけでなく、一般の方や学校関係、その学生達にも参加して頂きます。

The style of artwork can be varied, but the theme is unified as “Support, Prayer, and Healing for Japan.”The artworks are to be displayed online as well so that the people in Japan are also able to view them.

さまざまなアートの形はありますが、今年のアート展示のテーマは”日本に向けた応援、癒し、願い、祈りなど、復興に向けたコンセプトのテーマで、プロ・アマ両者のアーティストによるアート展示会や一般の方のパネル展示なども行う予定です！

Therefore, from this year, 2011, this festival is called;
このような点を踏まえ、2011年は「日本文化祭」から名を改め、

"Japan Culture and Art Festival (日本文化・芸術祭)"

となりました。

The profit made from the entrance fees, workshops and the exhibited works (subjected for sale) in 2011 festival will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross (May change) via the general consulate of Japan in Melbourne.

そして今年、2011年の日本文化・芸術祭の入場料やワークショップ、展示品オークションなどで得られた全ての収益は、全て日本赤十字(予定)に寄付致します。

日本文化祭は、参観者1000名を越え、ボランティアなどを加えると1500名以上が参加した。
5月のジャパン・フェスティバルが参観者数5000名を越える規模だが、この日本文化祭も急速に発展する可能性もある。

It is “Culture day (Bunka no hi)” on November 3rd in Japan.
There are many Japanese people living in Melbourne who have great skills but do not have many places to present their abilities,
while there are many Australian people who love Japan and Japanese Culture.
These people do not have many opportunities to experience both traditional and modern Japanese culture.
All Performers, artists and work shop teachers are volunteers and happy to contribute their skills.
This event will not only help people understand and experience Japan’s beautiful culture but also make a stronger bridge between Australian and Japanese people in Melbourne.

2010年11月7日日曜日、
約1600名の参加者に恵まれ、無事に第一回日本文化祭を終える事ができました。

On Sunday 7th Nov, 2010,
It became such a fantastic day with about 1600 participants.

多くの方々からかなり前向きなフィードバックを頂いており、
「来年も是非」と既にリクエストの声が多く届いております。
これもひとえに、皆様の温かいご協力と努力のおかげです。

Thanks to all of your efforts and supports,
we have received lots of positive feedback and requests for this event next year already.

来年は、11月の終わりから12月の頭に企画する予定でございます。
様々な日本文化が“経験”できる初の「参加型」日本文化祭を
より多くの日本文化を”見て、習って、体験して、遊んで”もらおうというコンセプトで
また皆様のご協力を頂き、次回につなげていけたらと思っています。

We are planning this event in the end of Nov or Dec next year (try to fit after VCE and some university exam),
We hope that we all can meet each other again for this special day - JAPAN CULTURE FESTIVAL,
and let's give guests a diverse range of experiences in both traditional and modern Japanese culture again.

今回は、初企画にも関わらず、
私どもを信じてお手伝い頂き、言葉に出来ないほど、心より感謝しております。
至らない点も多々あったかと思いますが、
皆さんのお声を聞き、できる限り改善していきたいと思っておりますので、

メルボルン初！体験型のカルチャーフェスティバル！

伝統的な物から最新の物まで、様々な日本文化が“経験”できる‐初の「参加型」日本文化祭。

11月3日は「文化の日」です。
そしてメルボルンには、様々なスキルやちょっとした特技を持った日本人がいます。
それをもっと身近で披露できる場所、もっと言えば、その人たちが日本や日本文化が好きなオーストラリア人達と交流する場所を作ろうと、このイベントが生まれました。
この日本文化祭は、皆が見て、習って、作って、遊べる、新しい形の「参加型」文化祭です。　
パフォーマー、アーティストそしてワークショップの先生達は、ほとんどがボランティアで、その技術を純粋に分け合いたいと思っている人達が集まっています。
このイベント開催が、美しい日本文化に触れて経験してもらうきっかけになるだけでなく、メルボルンにいる日本人と外国人をより一層つなぐ架け橋になってくれればと思います。
